Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium was introduced by the government in 2011. It is a specific grant based on school census figures for those children eligible for Free School Meals.

At Astmoor Primary School we aim to:

• Ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils
• Ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups including those who might be considered socially disadvantaged, in order to raise the standard of achievement of those pupils
• Allocate pupil premium funds following analysis of needs within classes and groups or for individual children
• Accelerate progress of children particularly in the key areas of reading, writing and maths
